He is an adventurer first and a filmmaker and photographer second.

Following a brief stent in America, he departed at the age of three with his family to the recently

post-communist Eastern Europe.

After a life spent living between the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria, and travels spanning over two dozen countries, adapting to the simple life seemed out of the question. Never ceasing to discover new and intriguing journeys, he attempted to find a way to embrace others’ stories while embracing his own. Through the gift of storytelling, he found the perfect combination to facilitate this passion.

Graduating from John Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Film & Photography, he now embraces the world of freelance to facilitate his ambitions. In doing so, the unknown takes on the rare form of security. Each project is approached through the personal stories of those in front of his lens. Through this, the journeys of others becomes a part of his journey as well.

Who I Am

My name is Michael K. Bruner and I’m a visual storyteller. I’m never much taken to labels and have always had a hard time falling into an overly specific career role. Perhaps it has something to do with my missionary kid upbringing and the constant change and adaption required of that lifestyle. Still, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I believe that any creative idea should have a proper fighting chance to come to life. Life is a combination of timing and chance. Of course it wouldn’t be much without the elbow grease and hard work that goes into it.
